Veterinary rehabilitation is a relatively new area of veterinary medicine. It incorporates a range of modalities to improve musculo-skeletal health and performance, from massage to our state-of-the-art underwater treadmill.
The evaluation includes an extensive orthopaedic and neurological exam, gait analysis, pain assessment, goniometric and girth measurements. For those patients who have undergone surgery it is critical to begin rehabilitation as soon as possible.
As human physical therapy, alternative and pain management clinics open up and become an accepted part of conventional medicine, more pet owners are looking for similar treatment for their pets.
Benefits of physical rehabilitation:
• Reduced pain
• Increased muscle
strength
• Increased flexibility
and range of motion

• Reduction in muscle
tension and spasms

stress
• Weight loss
• Optimise athletic
performance
Modalities available:
