PETS AS THERAPY (PAT)
PAT is a unique NPO with a vision of enriching lives through animal companionship. Our volunteer, accredited pet owners take their pets to visit people in hospitals, rehab facilities, extended care and nursing homes , special needs facilities, schools, hospices, retirement homes and frail care centres. PAT proves daily the benefits of interaction between people and animals, bringing comfort, relief and joy to children and adults, whether they are sick, depressed, injured or simply lonely. Even the most withdrawn patients open up and smile when a PAT pet appears.
