This is an information-packed, fun-filled, 1-day workshop on Herbs for Animals. This workshop explores how you can use what nature provided to keep your four-legged companions healthy and happy. Discover how common herbs can promote health and longevity and be used as first-aid remedies to treat minor injuries and upsets.

Informative presentations, engaging discussions and get-your-hands-dirty practical sessions - this workshop has something for everyone.

This workshop is for all animal guardians interested in adding a new dimension to their relationship with their animals. No previous experience of herbs required. Those bitten by the herb-bug can go on to do the extraordinary Advanced Workshops.

The 1-day Foundation Workshop is very hands-on, and you spend a large part of the day working with the herbs directly. In these practical sessions you will:

• Use your senses to discover the health promoting properties of a number of important herbs
• Make a wonderful healing wound cream from scratch. This will be the first item in your very own Herbal First-aid Kit
• Learn how to harvest, store and prepare herbs at home

All materials for the practical sessions are provided and the cost is included in the cost of the workshop.

In the presentation sessions, we briefly look at a variety of common herbs, their actions and their usefulness as first-aid remedies, and in supporting optimal health and longevity in animals. We also explore a number of fascinating topics, including:

• The history of using herbs in animal healthcare
• How animals medicate themselves with herbs in the wild
• The wisdom of the ancient herbal traditions
• The insights of modern science

During the discussion sessions we begin delving into a number of ideas around health, healing and wholeness, and discover some of the answers Nature provides.

All participants are signed up to Herbs for Animals email group so the sharing and discussion can continue long after the workshop.

NB - The workshops are NOT intended to teach you to treat sick animals with herbs. The workshops focus on promoting health and longevity of animals, and first-aid treatment of minor ailments. The workshops are also NOT intended to provide training to treat animals with herbs. The courses are intended for animal owners who would like to include herbs as part of larger focus on animal wellness.
